Dr. Michael Klautzsch grew up here in Oregon and graduated with honors from Oregon State University. He was awarded an Oregon WICHE Scholarship for health care professionals and subsequently earned his Doctor of Optometry Degree from UC Berkeley School of Optometry in 1995. Dr. Klautzsch was the recipient of the Robert Greenwood Family Memorial Award for patient management skills as well as the Phi Kappa Phi National Honors Fellowship. During his time at Berkeley, Dr. Klautzsch had the opportunity to go on rotations to several different clinics including the Oakland VA Medical Center and the Portland VA Medical Center. Dr. Klautzsch gained specialized training in the areas of pre and post-op cataract care and ocular disease management.
Shortly after graduation Doctor Klautzsch began his private practice in what are now All Family Vision Care in Corvallis and Salem Vision Clinic in Salem. Dr. Klautzsch enjoys doing infant and pediatric care as well as co-managing refractive surgeries such as LASIK. Dr. Klautzsch is a member of the American Optometric Society as well as the Oregon Association of Optometric Physicians. Dr. Klautzsch has volunteered his time and expert eye care to patients in Leon, Mexico along with the Lions Sight Savers Foundation, in addition to doing multiple vision screenings at local schools in Benton and Marion County.
Dr. Klautzsch enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy and their two teenage boys. Family activities include weekly club and high school soccer events, snowboarding, boating and camping. Often you will find Dr. Klautzsch and his wife walking their two Siberian Huskies near their home in North Albany.
